THANKSGIVING MEAL

RESIDENTS work together to cook goat meat to be distributed to pilgrims during the traditional Nyadran Gule ceremony at the Sentono cemetery complex in Ngijo village, Gunung Pati, Semarang, Central Java, Thursday, January 18. The age-old tradition involves slaughtering 43 goats, cooking the meat, followed by collective prayers and a pilgrimage to the sacred site of the cleric KH Asyari and the family graves, as an expression of gratitude for the blessings bestowed by God.
