According to data from the Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (PVMBG), during the observation period on Wednesday, October 16, from 00:00 to 24:00 local time, Mount Semeru experienced 16 observed volcanic eruptions with ash plumes reaching heights of 300 to 800 meters, white to gray in color. One observed avalanche traveled a distance of 1,500 meters toward Besuk Kobokan, while there were 55 eruption quakes with amplitudes of 10 to 22 mm lasting 50-177 seconds, and 13 avalanche quakes with amplitudes of 3 to 12 mm lasting 45 to 136 seconds.
