PATH OF PURIFICATION
A GROUP of women carry dulang trays on their heads filled with lime-infused water during the Limau Baronggeh tradition in Sungai Pisang, Padang, West Sumatra, February 27, 2025. Recognized as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Indonesia, Limau Baronggeh is a tradition fostering inter-tribal unity in Sungai Pisang ahead of the holy fasting month of Ramadan. Participants parade elaborately decorated trays and cleanse their faces with lime water and powder as a symbolic act of purification.
