The first Indonesian Games Day was held on August 8, established at a time when the games industry is growing rapidly in the country. Newzoo, a global market research agency, noted that Indonesia is ranked 24th in the world, and second in Southeast Asia, based on the value of the game industry. In 2015, revenues from the video game market in Indonesia reached US$321 million, up 56 percent over the previous year. This is not just an urban development, but a phenomenon happening across the country. In Palembang, youths from Game Developer Palembang released a number of games that are now available on Play Store.
