A riot at the Langkat prison for narcotics offenders is said to be the result of inmates being fed up with the rampant abuse and extortion committed by prison guards.

Three burned out automobiles sat in the yard of the Langkat Class III Narcotics Correctional Facility in North Sumatra, on Tuesday, May 21. Their original colors were undiscernible, and smoldering blackened shells were all that remained. Over a dozen scorched motorcycle frames sat in another area about 30 meters away.
