THAT morning Ramin began his day in the house yard of a bank manager in the high-class section of Pondok Labu in South Jakarta. For the past three years the 74-year-old grandpa has been working as a gardener in the area. Six days a week he works from morning to midday. "Twice a week I also work as a night watchman in the village," he says.

Ramin did the two jobs in between his profession as a trombonist in the Tiga Saudara Tanjidor
