Many of Indonesias valuable cultural artifacts remain in the Netherlands today, and the road to having the collection returned is blocked: from both the Dutch and Indonesian ends.
The two Syiwa statutes standing at the entrance to the Rijksmuseum voor Volkenkunde (RMV), Leiden, suddenly shine under a spotlight. Every time a visitor enters, the two statues hiding in the darkness are revealed in a stream of light.
