THE theme of Di Sini dan Kini (Here and Now) that the curator has chosen for the 8th Yogyakarta Biennale (December 4-22, 2005) tries to link the tradition of the organization of this local biennale, held since 1988, with the local cultural legacy by means of raising the awareness of heritage. As many as 12 places in Yogya that are considered to be categorized as cultural heritage have been re-presented as part of the awareness that prevails today
