THE fight between Hanumans monkey troops and the giant soldiers of Rahwana is unavoidable. But do not imagine this fight scene as a dance drama piece performed in gracefully supple movements. In fact, the performance represented a blend of contemporary dance choreography and acrobatic movements. Even the costumes of the performers were completely beyond convention. The giant soldiers, for example, had body painting with floral and leaf motifs.
