The Jakarta Arts Council organizes an exhibition of Yogyakarta’s underground cartoonists. One of them is Athonk, a punk rocker and tattooist.

WHILE being imprisoned for several months, Athonk, Yogyakarta cartoonist and tattoo artist, produced instead his unique works. Excerpts of these works are included in the exhibition of 10 Yogyakarta underground cartoonists being held at Taman Ismail Marzuki, Jakarta. Athonk features Old Skull, the character he created in 2001 while he was still in prison.
