THREE dancers squatted and moved in single file, dragging their legs. Heads bowed down in a submissive manner, like servants in front of aristocrats. Their hair was braided in locks. At the left side of the stage, they passed the other way. Only this time, they were seen from behind one of two large white cloths backlit with yellow light. Indeed, Ni Kadek played with silhouettes, just like the technique used in wayang or Javanese shadow puppetry.
