FOR some people it brings back the time when improvisation was ruling life in their younger days when buying was an unaffordable activity: so a drawing board and four bricks would do for a coffee table, a woven bamboo kukusan (rice steamer) in upside down position would serve as a shade, discarded cases piled on one another became the place to store our plates and glasses, while guests would be offered to sit on a long plank leaning on two legs.
