One East ArtSpace gallery in Singapore permanently displays Sudjojono's memorabilia. A sign that the father of Indonesian modern fine arts is increasingly gaining more respect.

A DOOR frame stands in the gallery of One East ArtSpace, Singapore. The 2-meter-high door has become a canvas with a portrait of Sudjojono and his family on it. In 1964, Sindudarsono Sudjojono (1913-1986), father of Indonesian modern art, painted the door because he had not been able to replace it with a new one.

At the time, July 2, 1964, Sudjojono and Rose Pandanwangi were preparing to celebrate their second son Germania Menang Djuang's birthday.
