A number of musicians composed music from classic works of Indonesian literature in the Utan Kayu-Salihara Literary Biennale. Some were relaxed and funny, while others were very serious.

"I feel like I'm not a good songwriter, but I am trying. And this is a great challenge for me to write music for literary works. The first one I will present, cie(gee), is the poem Senja di Pelabuhan Kecil (Dusk at a Small Port) by Chairil Anwar," said the 22-year-old, met by friendly laughter from the audience. Her fingers immediately set about playing the keys of the black piano.
