At the Salihara last week, Melati Suryodarmo presented Goenawan Mohamad’s poem Orfeus (Orpheus) as a choreography.

WHERE was Orpheus for the show’s one-hour duration? He appeared at the beginning. Someone was then heard reciting the poem: “Five minutes before the train departed, the woman said to him, ‘Orpheus, I will not return.’”
