THE seemingly floating building on the shore of the Makassar strait, South Sulawesi, quickly grab one’s attention. The magnificent structure is adorned with onion-shaped orange domes serried together around the main structure. These bright ‘onions’ are dwarfed by the central hemispherical, or the melon, dome at the top. At a glance, the structure resembles a colorful Russian Orthodox church.
