Four of Myanmar President Thein Seins nine advisors recently visited Aceh to observe the political reforms taking hold in the once conflict-ridden Indonesian province. In an exclusive interview with Tempo, they said that Thein Seins promise to opposition leader Suu Kyi were a series of initial steps that would see sweeping reforms eventually taking hold in the country.

THEIN Sein managed to raise more than a few eyebrows when he suspended a US$3.6 billion Myitsone dam project on the Irrawaddy River, following cries from the pro-democracy movement.
