THE admission of Hamdani Amin, the Finance Bureau chief at the General Elections Commission (KPU), regarding illicit funds, is edging KPU Chairman Nazaruddin Sjamsuddin into a corner. According to Hamdani, it was Nazar himself who asked him to come up with Rp20.3 billion. The funds came from KPU business partners who had taken part in supplying material and services for the 2004 General Elections as a way of saying thank you.
