He speaks calmly, unlike a man who is to be sentenced to death, unlike a man who has escaped from prison a number of times. His gaze is sharp. “Please bring me some anti-mosquito lotion. The mosquitoes are crazy here,” said Gunawan Santosa, 43, to a prison guard. Except for a thin mattress, there is no furniture in cell number 4, at the isolation block of the Cipinang Narcotics Prison, where Santosa is imprisoned.
