ACHMAD Aidit was born on July 30, 1923 at Jalan Belantu, Pangkal Lalang, Belitung. His father Abdullah Aidit was a forestry official, quite a prestigious position in those days. His mother, Mailan, was born into an aristocratic family in Bangka Belitung.
