IT was Muso with his ideas from Russia that sparked the revolutionary zeal of D.N. Aidit. He was deeply impressed by Muso’s call for “a new road for the republic.” According to Muso, architect of the 1926 communist insurrection in Java and Sumatra, which was crushed by the Dutch colonial government, all socialist-communist forces should unite and strive for power under the leadership of the Indonesian Communist Party (PKI).
