THE sky was still dark when the Dakota T-443 plane touched down on the runway at Adisutjipto Air Force Base, Yogyakarta. It was an important plane, with an important person on board. Early that morning, on October 2, 1965, a number of Indonesian Air Force officers hurried to reach the terminal. Waiting to greet the plane was the Governor of the Air Force Academy, Air Commodore Dono Indarto, along with five air force majors.
