Bilawal Zardari, Benazir’s eldest child, was appointed the new leader of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP). He also took on a new name: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. The addition of the namesake has led to a feud inside the Bhutto family. The extended family suspects this is a ruse by Asif Ali Zardari, Benazir’s husband, to capture the power and influence of Pakistan’s most famous political family. Who has the right to lead the Bhutto family and to carry on the leadership tradition of the PPP? Tempo visited the Benazir family grave in Larkana last week, reporting directly from the hometown of the former leader of Pakistan.
