I began to read Wiro when I was in third grade of elementary school. In 1957, I read all the 10 volumes of the comic strip. I cried when the Japanese shot Wiro’s animal friends one by one.
To my classmates and I, Wiro was Indonesian Tarzan. But in my opinion, Wiro is superior to Tarzan. The graphics are good, just like the drawings of Indonesians. My friends and I felt closer with the story.
