A foundation established by the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal & Security Affairs, Djoko Suyanto, has come under the spotlight. Raising funds from hundreds of businesspeople, the foundation accumulated hundreds of billions of rupiah when it was first established. Businesspeople from the property, mining, oil and hotel sectors put money into it. The foundation is seen to be political because its founders are people close to Yudhoyono.

THE song Majulah Negeriku (Advance My Country) composed by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) was sung that night. Tantowi Yahya was the singer. The pool garden at the Dharmawangsa Hotel in South Jakarta, covered by a tent, was filled with government officials, heads of state-owned enterprises and businesspeople on that Friday evening, February 29, 2008.
