Antasari’s future is in the hands of three judges. Two of them have given guilty verdicts and death sentences.

IN Nugroho Setiadji’s 20 years as a judge, this is the first time that he has tried a case calling for the death penalty. According to Nugroho, he has been fasting often since he was assigned to be one of the judges in the Antasari Azhar case. “This is a serious one,” said Nugroho, a graduate of Diponegoro University’s Law Faculty in Semarang.

During his career as a judge, the longest prison sentence Nugroho has ever given was 13 years.
