The police have accused the Sumalindo company of receiving illegal logs. Claiming to be innocent, Sumalindo has asked for “legal protection.” Yudhoyono’s sister-in-law intervened, meeting with the National Police Chief and the Forestry Minister. She denied that he intervened. The case will go to trial this week.
