The Corruption Eradication Commission was close to busting a meeting between prosecutors and people representing Bahasyim Assifie but it was thwarted. Attempts at bribery are suspected to be behind the three postponements in announcing the indictment on Bahasyim.

IT was early morning, not quite 7am. Two cars made their way along Jalan Kampung Melayu Besar in Tebet, South Jakarta. The second car trailed behind the first at a short distance. The first car stopped in front of a Javanese restaurant and two men emerged, going straight inside the eatery. The second car stopped at the edge of the road, a few meters behind.
