AS a former senior figure in the Indonesian Islamic State (NII), Imam Supriyanto had never forgotten his senior, Abdul Rosyid alias Abdul Kholis. Two years ago, Imam visited the home of Kholis in Ciputat, South Tangerang. “He used to be my mentor,” said Imam in Jakarta last week, referring to Kholis. At that time, Imam had already left the organization two years before. During those two years Imam never met with this elderly man.
