Politicians are opposing the administration’s plan to purchase shares divested by PT Newmont Nusa Tenggara. Finance Minister Agus Martowardojo’s decision to proceed with the transaction faces strong opposition from the DPR’s Finance and Energy commissions and lacks the support from the Joint Secretariat of Coalition Parties. Even the Ministry of Energy appears to be dragging its feet in approving the purchase.
