THE sun was hot over Benete harbor in West Sumbawa regency, in the province of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) that Tuesday afternoon last week. In 38-degree-Celsius temperature, passengers disembarked from a speedboat which had just docked at the special pier belonging to PT Newmont Nusa Tenggara, an American mining company. The people on the boat were some of its employees, back from some time off in nearby Mataram.
