THE cable was sent in mid-November 2009 from the American Embassy in Jakarta to Washington. It was titled 'Blue Lantern: Result of Verifying Bonafides of Registered Broker Mulany Luwena.' This report from an economic consultant contained the results of a visit to the office of Milany Luwena (not Mulany), owner of PT Multijaya Sparindo, a company which often supplies various types of military equipment.
