Aletter arrived in the hands of General Sudirman early that February in 1949. The Supreme Commander was fighting a guerrilla war in Pacitan, East Java. The sender was someone he respected: Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono IX. A courier brought it on foot from Yogyakarta.
