Political parties are awaiting PDI-P's decision on who will be Jokowi's running mate. The door is open to many, but Jusuf Kalla is considered to be the strongest candidate.

A NAME for the political alliance had already been prepared: the Amanat Perjuangan Bangsa or People's Struggle Mandate. According to the plan, it consists of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), the National Mandate Party (PAN), and the National Awakening Party (PKB).
