THE leaders at the Special Task Force on Upstream Oil and Gas (SKK Migas) these days are working hard. Since the House of Representatives (DPR) Commission on Energy and Mineral Resources set the oil lifting target at 900,000 barrels per day for 2015, they have aggressively been pursuing oil and gas contractors to boost production figures.
For the past month SKK Migas has been correcting work plans prepared by contractors. They are asking the oil producers to increase their production targets. "It goes without saying that the plan should not become more of a burden on the state. It is an uphill battle," SKK Migas Secretary Gde Pradnyana told Tempo in mid-October.
