A Worthless Sketch

MARSIYEM gasped, bowed her head, then covered her face when the sketch of her mysterious visitor was drawn by an artist from Surakarta, Central Java. The visitor came to her home on Tuesday, August 13, 1996, at around 8:30pm. She is convinced that it was he who attacked her husband, Fuad Muhammad Syafruddin or Udin, beating him with an iron bar, then hit the back of his head and the forehead of the Bernas reporter until he fell, covered in blood.
That night, Marsiyem opened the door of her rented house following a knock from outside. She spoke briefly with the man who came and went back inside once her husband was with the visitor. Within a mere heartbeat, the sound of a thud ... Marsiyem came out of the house and saw her husband lying. She screamed for help.
