PRESIDENT Joko Widodo feels at home at the Bogor Palace. Last week he took some of his work there, poised right alongside the Bogor Botanical Gardens. He likes staying overnight at Wisma Dyah Bayurini, which is located on the palace grounds, even when he has a full schedule the following day at the State Palace in Jakarta.

On Tuesday last week, the president decided to spend the night in Bogor even though his last meeting in Jakarta ended very late. His agenda the next day listed his activities at the State Palace in Jakarta, including his public announcement to withdraw Comr. Gen. Budi Gunawan's nomination as police chief, even though it had been approved by the House of Representatives (DPR).
