At the campus of Singapore's Institute of Technical Education (ITE) College, student-made products are exhibited and sold at the minimarket, the caf and souvenir shops. The students work at their projects in classrooms that resemble laboratories. There is even a hangar, containing a small aircraft.
"The hands-on learning experience at ITE gave me a headstart in my career," said Jocelyn Ng, 34, who studied Nitec in Nursing at ITE's former College East and graduated in 2001. She is currently a Nurse Educator and is one of the seven nurses presented with the President's Award last July.
