Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan usually addresses his close friends as hopeng. In Chinese, hopeng comes from the word hao pengyou, which means good friend. The two have indeed long been friends. Jusman was transportation minister from 2007 to 2009 and is currently CEO of Toba Sejahtera, a business group established by Luhut. This company operates in coal mining, oil and gas, electricity generators, plantations and forestry. Jusman is also a graduate of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), in the same graduating class as Rizal Ramli.
