The tip of the 11-meter-long boat we rode in often rose up into the air, smacking back down onto the surface of the water. The 11 passengers who sat in the uncovered hull could only hunch down under their coats. Seawater sprayed everywhere; the raincoats were unable to keep out the driving wind and water. Everyone was soaked.
During this frightening situation, photographer Eko Siswono Toyudho suddenly raised his head and pointed to the back of the boat. "That's crazy!" He shouted, shaking his head, as Samsudin Bugis, who was driving the boat, just stood, calmly unmoving.
