The case against Novel Baswedan was a topic of serious discussion between two senior law-enforcement officials. Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) chairman Taufiequrachman Ruki and National Police Chief Badrodin Haiti called each other a few times on the telephone on ways to handle senior police investigators.
Two weeks ago, sharing a table at an Anti-Corruption Festival event at the House of Representatives (DPR), on Thursday two weeks ago, Ruki and Badrodin again discussed their previous phone conversations. Ruki said that he needed to contact Badrodin because the Police crime investigation unit had sent Novel another summons for questioning.
