Tear gas filled Ricardo Pattikassy's room on Friday two weeks ago. A Joint Task Force team from the Jakarta Police had fired five tear gas cans to force Ricardo alias Rico to exit the home of his in-laws on Jalan Nakula, Central Jakarta.

But Rico showed no signs of surrendering. Instead, he popped out of the door and spitting, he shot at the police with his six-shot revolver he stole from a police officer he had assaulted, at the home of Anthoneta Christina, better known as Mama Yola, near the Berlan neighborhood in Matraman, East Jakarta.
