Rizal Ramli Maritime and Natural Resources Coordinating Minister
There are many benefits to having the rig onshore

Rizal Ramli is the official who is most determined to abort the plan to build the Masela Block liquefied natural gas (LNG) rig offshore. He proposes instead that the government build it on land. Because of this, Ramli has had an open confrontation with Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Sudirman Said.

According to Rizal's own calculations, the onshore operation would be far cheaper, particularly the construction costs. He claims the business scheme will also bring more economic benefits to the people of Maluku. That is why Ramli, who was finance minister during the presidency of Abdurrahman Wahid, dares to release information that the government will decide on building the Masela Block onshore, although President Joko Widodo has not decided yet.
