The plenary meeting was initially to be led by President Joko Widodo. However, the President failed to appear on the appointed day. Located at the office of the coordinating ministry for the economy, the meeting of the task force to accelerate and monitor the implementation of the new economic policies on Tuesday, June 29 was, instead, led by Vice President Jusuf Kalla. He officially confirmed its existence.
Coordinating Minister for the Economy Darmin Nasution was put in charge as chairman of the task force. Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Luhut Pandjaitan, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung and special staff to the Vice President, Sofjan Wanandi, were appointed as first, second and third deputy chairman, respectively.
