The Dipasena shrimp farm was ruined after Sjamsul Nursalim got entangled in the BLBI case. It resumed activity three years ago.

Once touted as the largest shrimp farm in the world, at night the grounds of Bumi Dipasena Utama looks like a ghost town. Dilapidated shacks which had been abandoned for years litter the area, surrounded by overgrown bushes and weeds which have never been cut down.

Because there is no electricity, every night this village in Tulang Bawang regency, Lampung, is plunged into darkness. The sound of a waterwheel from the farm is the only sign of life.
