A raid on Indo Beras Unggul's (IBU) warehouse has shed light on the company's shrewd business dealings. IBU, a subsidiary of Tiga Pilar Sejahtera Food, cut the supply chain in half and purchased rice for higher prices from farmers. Middlemen, moneylenders, and speculators were clearly upset with the company for bypassing them. What is not yet clear is why the government was also displeased.
