As the time nears to register candidates running in West Java’s gubernatorial election, Ridwan Kamil and the PDI-P’s relationship seems to have been restored. The PPP is threatening to leave the coalition.

Ridwan Kamil used Kartika Sari, a famous dessert from Bandung, to break the ice with Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) elites. After a 10-month break in communication between the Bandung mayor and the party, Ridwan was received by PDI-P’s top officials last Wednesday.
