ON midday Sunday, October 20, Pratikno—who had not yet been inaugurated as state secretary for the second time—contacted Muhammad Mahfud Md. via telephone. He asked Mahfud not to travel in the next two days. “At 1pm before the presidential and vice-presidential inauguration, I received information that you will be summoned by the President to lead M-1,” Mahfud told Tempo at his office on Wednesday, October 23.
