Following a large Islam Defenders Front event in Petamburan, Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan was questioned by the police. The regional government’s stance prior to the event was indeed ambiguous.

AROUND 7pm on Tuesday, November 10, Anies Baswedan visited Rizieq Shihab’s residence in Petamburan, West Jakarta. The Jakarta governor went to the Islam Defenders Front (FPI) leader’s home on his own, without using his official vehicle and with minimum security. Anies, who was wearing a suit and a black cap, was immediately greeted by the host at the door. Both men exchanged greetings.
