INDONESIAN Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) politician Herman Hery is allegedly involved in the social aid corruption case. On January 8, Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigators searched the office of Dwimukti Graha Elektrindo, a company affiliated with Herman. The company is believed to have obtained the largest social aid provisions quota of 7.6 million packages worth Rp2.1 trillion. On Saturday, January 16, the House of Representatives’ (DPR) Legal Affairs Commission chairman visited Tempo’s office to provide explanation. Excerpts of the interview have been published in Koran Tempo daily newspaper.
